How did you attract/address your audience?
We
originally planned for our target audience to be aged 16-25 for many factors
such as people that age are usually more likely to visit the cinema so this
would bring our film a larger gross and allow a huge audience to consume it. Also
because we chose a rating 15 so young adults aged 16+ are probably the best
audience for our film due to its scary content/themes, as shown in the screenshot
of previous research our group did. I think overall our target audience was
reached as showing it to my peers they said it was quite appealing and enjoyed
the 2 minutes we made, 70% of people asked said they would watch the full film
if it were to be made. In production we included some quite thrilling shots and
edits which were specifically aimed at our target audience as the action/thriller
genre appeals most to the young adult category. Some of the audience mentioned
things like “it’s cleverly edited and creates suspense” and “the music clearly
shows it’s a thriller film” which shows how the genre and suspense of the film
appealed to our chosen target audience. Less successful things were that the
storyline wasn’t clear and quite confusing at times which shows how our film
could’ve been improved vastly and we could have planned the storyline better,
to allow the audience to be thrilled and in suspense rather than having to
overthink what was happening in scenes. If we were to improve/remake our film
this feedback shows what our target audience liked and disliked so we could
alter it and improve it to give them a more enjoyable experience.
