4. Who would be the audience for your media product?






Before making our film we did a Questionnaire as part of pre-production research, this included asking what age group people thought our film would be targeted at. A graph of the results is shown above.

The results show that the main age group is 16-18 years, we initially planned for the target demographic to be 15-25, but teenagers are our main target as the protagonist is a teenager so the film would draw in more of a teenage audience. It would also be aimed at people who like thrillers/horrors and like films that include a mystery. Through the use of marketing on social media, our films trailers/posters etc. would be seen by many teens as they are a large proportion of the users so this would be directly targeted at them. Because we earlier decided that the certificate of our film would be a 15, the results mainly agree with that so we wouldn’t need to change any of the content to make it suitable for a younger audience which allows our film to include typical thriller conventions and iconography which will make it scarier and more thrilling for a better audience experience. Therefore I agree with the results we gathered from the public and this should hopefully predict that the 16-18 age group would enjoy our film the most.
